Born in Tanzania, Shallirosena Mbwette holds a MSc in Energy Engineering from the Pan African University and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Trinity University in San Antonio (USA). She has worked with GIZ in Ethiopia and the African Union PIDA Programme (infrastructure development in Africa) supporting the development of the next PIDA Action Plan for 2020-2030 and the promotion of regional infrastructure. She has regional experience in different African countries (namely Tanzania, Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Togo, and Ethiopia), the USA working as a STEM coach, and in Spain as an IEEE Empower a Billion Lives Competition first-round qualifier. Shallirosena also participated with her JuaJamii Team in the first African Solar Decathlon in Morocco. Her areas of expertise are energy and electrical engineering, infrastructure project design, preparation, implementation, stakeholder engagement and capacity building. She is verified as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T) by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
