Prof Clemens Wollny

Prof Wollny is a former Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Engineering at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Bingen, Germany, with a strong focus on the strategic development of its study programmes (Climate Change and Adaption; Agriculture and Environment; Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences and Process Engineering). He is a visiting professor at INES in Rwanda, continues to supervise postgraduate students at Bingen, and works as an independent advisor in various higher education projects in Africa. Prof Wollny has 25+ years of experience working with and in HE in Africa but also in Asia and Latin America (quality assurance and management of institutions, capacity building, employability of graduates, private sector cooperation, international university, and research cooperation programmes), including ten years of residency in Malawi, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe when he was advising and supporting the establishment of regional master’s programs in the early 90s. He also served the Ethiopian Ministry of Higher Education during the expansion phase of their Higher Education program. He has supervised international postgraduate and PhD students in Africa and as a temporary professor at the University of Goettingen, Germany.
