Capacity building and training | Curriculum design | Sustainable development in climate change with focus on energy access and development
Dr Sparks is a climate change researcher with 20+ years of experience with a particular focus on energy access within the broad context of sustainable development in Africa. Her expertise includes research in the fields of energy and climate change, capacity building, curriculum design, teaching and training. Dr Sparks has co-convened the ACDI Masters' module on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation since its inception. She is involved in delivering training and assistance to developing countries under the UNFCCC's Technology Needs Assessment project. Dr Sparks holds an MSc and PhD in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town.
