Dr Maria Madalena Baptista is an education specialist with expertise in curriculum development, teacher training, and education policy. With extensive teaching and leadership experience in Portugal, she has played a key role in academic councils and research initiatives, fostering collaboration and educational reform.
Since 2008, she has worked as a consultant in Mozambique, leading research, developing educational materials, and advising the Ministry of Education on policy implementation and curriculum reform. As the founder of Hatua, Lda, a consulting firm in Mozambique, she oversees education projects, team coordination, and training programme design.
She holds a PhD in Educational Sciences from the Catholic University of Lisbon and a Master’s in Psycholinguistics from the University of Lisbon.Dedicated to inclusive education and strategic project management, Dr Baptista continues to drive meaningful educational improvements in Mozambique and beyond.
