Prof Hans Wollny is a higher education and development cooperation expert with over 25 years of experience in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. He is a former Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Engineering at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Bingen (Germany), where he led strategic programme development in climate change adaptation, agriculture, environment, biotechnology, and biomedical sciences.
He has worked extensively on quality assurance, institutional management, capacity building, employability, and private sector collaboration in higher education. He spent a decade in Malawi, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, advising on regional master’s programmes. He also supported the Ethiopian Ministry of Higher Education during a key expansion phase.
Currently, Prof Wollny is a visiting professor at INES in Rwanda, supervises postgraduate students at Bingen, and serves as an independent advisor for higher education projects in Africa. He has also supervised PhD students at the University of Göttingen, Germany.
