Dr George Mukundi Wachira is a Kenyan public law expert and human rights advocate with over 15 years of experience in public sector governance, multilateral policy development, and implementation. He is the CEO of the Maendeleo Group and an Adjunct Professor of Public Law at the University of Cape Town.
Previously, he was the founding head of the African Governance Architecture (AGA) Secretariat at the African Union Commission, where he led multi-country teams in strategy development, policy analysis, impact assessment, and governance reform across Africa. He has worked extensively on legal and human rights frameworks, advising on policy negotiation and implementation at both national and continental levels.
An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Dr Wachira has worked across Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Egypt, Uganda, Ethiopia, Senegal, Nigeria, and The Gambia. He holds degrees from institutions in Kenya, South Africa, and the US.
