Dr. Sparks is a climate change researcher with over 20 years of experience, specialising in energy access within the broader context of sustainable development in Africa. Her expertise includes energy and climate change research, capacity building, curriculum design, teaching, and training. Dr. Sparks has co-convened the ACDI Masters' module on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation since its inception. She is also involved in providing training and support to developing countries as part of the UNFCCC's Technology Needs Assessment project. Dr. Sparks holds an MSc and PhD in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
