Arlette Danielle Román Almánzar is a PhD candidate in Ethics and Responsible Leadership in Business at the University of Mannheim, Germany. A Dominican national, she specialises in corporate social responsibility, with a focus on the ethics of artificial intelligence and technology-enhanced learning. Arlette’s expertise extends to gender, racial, and socio-economic diversity in technology design, as well as critical digital pedagogy and diversity, equity, and inclusion communication strategies. She currently serves as the Executive Member of the Global AI Ethics Institute and Artificial Intelligence Inclusion and Rights Policy Advisor at GENIA Latinoamérica. Arlette has held key roles in government and non-profit sectors, including as Director of Gender and Inclusion at the Ministry of Women in the Dominican Republic.
She holds an MSc in Public Policy from the University of Bristol and a Bachelor's in Law from Universidad Iberoamericana.
