CHALLENGE

_ The GCF is the operating entity of the financial mechanism of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As a rapidly growing and learning institution, GCF seeks to tap into global best expertise on climate change and climate finance to fulfil its mission of providing guidance to national designated authorities to limit or reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.

_ Thus, GCF is developing Sectoral Guideline documents across the sectors in which it operates, such as Renewable Energy, Early Warning and Climate Information Services, Ecosystems and Ecosystem Services, and Forests and Land Use.

_ Paradigms was brought in to provide an external language and technical review of the guidelines to assure a high-quality series of publications.

APPROACH

_ A three-level approach to analyse the conciseness, clarity and contextual fit across the guidelines: (a) the technical review, (b) the language review and (c) the integrated review.

_ Close communication between Paeradigms and the GCF experts and the team.

RESULTS

_ Project ongoing.
