CHALLENGE
_Ukraine has one of the lowest energy efficiency rates in the world. Even new buildings fall below the European standard for energy efficiency. To tackle this pressing issue, the German and Swiss governments are supporting the EU directive on promoting energy efficiency in Ukraine. GIZ is the implementing partner and has commissioned Paeradigms to develop demand-oriented qualification opportunities on the market with a focus on EE for employees and young professionals.
_The project addresses three action areas
1. policy advice and implementation of partial reforms
2. support to municipal energy management
3. promotion of vocational training, higher education, and further training in energy.
APPROACH
_Paeradigms is mapping out and analysing existing training offers in teh sector, to identify gaps and opportuinities.
The project will closely involve the Ukrainian private sector in developing related curricula and training.
_To ensure sustainability and capacity development, the Paeradigms team consists of four Ukraine nationals with expertise in energy efficiency, curriculum development, and teaching. The project is led by an international expert in energy and project management.
RESULTS
_The inception workshop began the project with a strong focus on stakeholder and partner relationships so that material developed meets local needs while adhering to international standards.
_Results forthcoming.
