Dina Castillo Baltodano is an NI-based adviser specialising in higher education, human rights, and interculturality. She is the Director of the Observatorio de Derechos Humanos y Autonómicos (Observatory of Human and Autonomy Rights) at Bluefields Indian and Caribbean University (BICU).
Dina holds a Master’s degree in Economics, Management, and Trade from the University of Extremadura (ES), alongside undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Law from BICU (NI). She has led numerous research projects focused on the autonomy of the Nicaraguan Caribbean and its intercultural population, including “Enhancing the value of epistemologies of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Approach to the state of the Arts on the Karawala community and Ulwa village” (2017) and “Knowledge, aspirations, and perceptions about autonomy and electoral reforms on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua - 2020”. Dina is committed to advancing human rights and intercultural research in the region.
