Prof Balkiss Bouhaouala-Zahar

Prof Bouhaouala-Zahar is a Professor of Biochemistry in the Medical School of Tunis and a Researcher in the Pasteur Institute of Tunis, specialised in biotechnology. She serves on doctoral committees in Microbiology, Biochemistry and Computational Biology programmes for the Division of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Sciences at the University of Tunis El Manar. She heads the Pasteur Institute NanoBioMedika research team within the scientific lab for biomolecules, venoms and theranostic applications (LBVAT), working on toxin and antibody engineering and conducting research on immunotherapy and molecular biology of antibodies. She has long experience in teaching, assessment, coordination, and management of scientific and technical projects in the field of nano/biotechnology and pharmacologically active biomolecules with potential industrial use, as well as strong skills in the management of Intellectual Property valuation procedures and Privacy Search results (certificates of WIPO, Korea IIPTI, UC Davis academies).
